Roger Williams, MP for Brecon and Radnorshire, has welcomed the announcement by the Department for Transport that a review of Motorcycle Test Centres will be undertaken.
Roger Williams said:
"People in rural areas, such as Brecon and Radnorshire, find it very hard to undertake a motorcycle test as currently there are too few test centres.
"In Brecon and Radnorshire, people can take the second part of the test in Builth Wells but the first part of the test has to be done elsewhere as the area is deemed too small. This means a 60mile round trip to Newtown.
"Alternatively they can undertake the first part of the test in Shrewsbury or Swansea.
"The announcement today by the Department of Transport that there will be a review of test sites is a welcome first step and I hope to see some older sites being brought back into use for those people, particularly those in rural areas, who have difficulty in accessing the current network of motorcycle tests.
