Roger Williams, MP for Brecon and Radnorshire and Liberal Democrat Shadow Secretary of State for Wales, has pledged his support for Furnished holiday Lettings after the Government announced in the Budget that they would repeal furnished holiday letting rules in response to European requirements.
Mr Williams voted against the Government plans to repeal EU regulations in a vote last night on the budget.
Roger Williams said:
"The Government plans are ill considered and punitive and they vary vastly with the industry estimates of the revenue that would be raised from such a step.
"It is essential that a proper review can be undertaken before any proposals are introduced to prevent owners of furnished holiday properties being hit unfairly.
"I therefore voted against the Government plans. "
