Brecon & Radnorshire's Liberal Democrat MP, Roger Williams, has warmly welcomed the staging in County Hall of a public exhibition about the design of the proposed multi-agency emergency services centre and magistrates court in Llandrindod Wells this week (Wed.) and the news that a planning application will be submitted next month.
Describing the moves as major steps forward, Mr. Williams said:
" Apart from providing much-needed new premises for the fire & rescue and police services all on one site, the new centre will include new offices for Her Majesty's Courts Service and a new magistrates' court, securing the presence of a court in Llandrindod Wells. This is something I and many others have fought for over a considerable period of time. My predecessor as MP, Richard (now Lord) Livsey, current County Councillor Fred Barker, former Llandrindod County Councillor David Peter, among many others, have all campaigned tirelessly to prevent the long-threatened closure of the Llandrindod Wells Court."
" Now our efforts are being vindicated and I look forward to the next steps in this very exciting project."
