The remote north Radnorshire village of Llanbadarn Fynydd has received a big boost to its efforts to keep its Post Office facility in the community-run village shop, in the form of a £1000 cheque from the Harry Tuffins supermarket chain.
Following the efforts by Brecon & Radnorshire's AM Kirsty Williams to secure the much-needed financial support from Harry Tuffins Ltd., the community shop was recently presented with the cheque by Mrs. Ruby Delves, daughter of the late Harry Tuffin, founder of the family firm that has outlets across the Marches area of Powys and Shropshire.
Brecon & Radnorshire's MP, Roger Williams, attended the presentation on Kirsty Williams's behalf, as she was unable to attend the event for family reasons.
Commenting on the boost to the village, Mr. Williams said:
" This most generous donation is a real confidence-booster for the village and a most welcome sign of Harry Tuffins Ltd.'s commitment to local community development. Kirsty and I are delighted that the firm has seen fit to support Llanbadarn Fynydd in this way."
